92% of mums

experience common breastfeeding problems. That’s not good enough. And that’s why we’re excited to share the results of the Lactamo clinical trial and showcase the benefits of Lactamo.

Independently Clinically Trialled

Deakin University and the Western Health Partnership carried out an independent clinical trial on Lactamo. The trial was so successful that it was nominated for the Mary Paton Award (Australia’s most prestigious award in breastfeeding). Recently published in the International Breastfeeding Journal, the findings included:

  • 100% of mothers in the trial said that they would recommend Lactamo to other mothers. “especially new mums who don’t know what they are doing, it will definitely benefit them”.

 • 100% of women who used Lactamo "felt that it was beneficial for their lactation".

• Mothers in Lactamo’s clinical trial who were given Lactamo after the early postpartum period “wished they had received it earlier”.

90% of women who used Lactamo after a feed said they used it for lactation concerns including engorgement, blocked ducts, mastitis, and/or pain.

• On using Lactamo while pumping: “I massage with it – [I get the] same volume but in less time pumping”.

Working with lactation professionals

Lactamo is an evidence-based aid. It is important to us that in every aspect of Lactamo (from research and development, design, and our instructions for use and guidance) we are aligned with the most up to date evidence.

We work with a large number of healthcare professionals including not just IBCLCs but also lactation academics, lymphatic experts, midwives, osteopaths and breast surgeons. Our team are all brought together by one clear goal: to support mums along their breastfeeding journey from the get-go.

We are proud of the support team that we have developed so far and we continue to invest a lot of time and resources in ensuring up-to-date clinical alignment with the latest research. We always welcome more discussions with new healthcare professionals, and value the diversity that this brings in our support for a mamas journey (pre and post natal). If you are interested in learning more or working with us, please contact us at hello@lactamo.com
