Who we are

Being a mama is hands down the best thing in the world, but that doesn’t mean it’s always easy. Every mama needs a little (or a lot of) help sometimes.
Take breastfeeding. When it comes to breastfeeding, most Australian mamas plan to give it a go. After all, the list of the benefits of breastfeeding is long, for both baby and mama. A huge 96% of us start breastfeeding, but by the time our babies are 5 months old, less than a quarter of babies are exclusively breastfed. There’s no doubt about it - breastfeeding is a challenge for many mamas. And a lack of support, information, and plain old help doesn’t make it any easier.
“Babies and mothers worldwide are being failed by a lack of investment in breastfeeding.”
World Health Organisation, 2017
We know firsthand that breastfeeding isn’t always a walk in the park. That’s why Lactamo came to be. Our founder, Etta, is a mama of 4 young children. She’s experienced all the highs and lows of the breastfeeding rollercoaster. Disappointed with the lack of solutions to the common breastfeeding problems she faced, like engorgement, blocked milk ducts, mastitis, oversupply and low supply (yep, she had both!), she decided to do something about it.

MEET ETTA

Etta drew on her 15 years of experience as a corporate professional and pulled together a team of experts to create Lactamo. It’s Lactamo’s mission to give new mamas a positive breastfeeding experience from the get-go and the best chance of breastfeeding success. Today, Lactamo unites and supports mamas around the world, from Australia to India, the UK, the USA, New Zealand and beyond.
